I’m quite certain that hundreds or thousands years ago, on a night like tonight, one of my ancestors was meditating on the summit of a hill under the moonlight. Then, with the deepest smile, he said: “no worries about everything!”
 
He went on a solo journey for a few months, or years, or decades. Before leaving, he turned off his smart phone, and left it at home. Because you don’t need a GPS navigator when you don’t have a destination. He also left his mp3 player, with some hesitation. He had always believed in this Nietzsche’s quote:“Without music life would be a mistake”. Probably, on that very night he told himself: “This time I’ll listen to nature; I’ll listen to my own heart”.
 
The reflection of the moonlight on my heart tells me: In that journey, he found some of his missing parts, and passed his unique experience into the genes of his great grand kids.

Thanks. I have a research deadline to catch! But I promise you that, on a night like tonight, I’ll climb a hill…

The first time I saw this photo, I got lost in its magnificence. It narrates the hidden tales of the mankind’s soul. The story of opposites and contradictions.

It shows all aspects of the life.
The left side of the picture depicts the Heaven within oneself, the peacefulness of the mind.It’s as calm and lovely as a rainbow in spring.

The right side depicts the Hell inside. It represents the flaming anxious nervousness. It’s a tornado of fire. It’s as harsh as a volcano eruption.

Carl Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist, states:“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness”. Similar to Jung’s quotation, this picture is a case of coincidentia oppositorum (coincidence of opposites).  Jung believes opposites are each other’s poison and healing. And one can only “achieve balance” by nurturing one’s “opposite”. Coincidence of opposites resolve contradictions and leads to unity and infinity. Coincidence of opposite is the wall of paradise, beyond which is God.

Therefore, in the middle I see the real peace. I see a state of unified wholeness; a state which all contradictions are resolved. I see purpose. I see meaning. I see …
